About this object
View of Port Ahuriri and the Western Spit (Westshore) from Napier Hill thought to have been taken around 1885. Napier Hill is visible in the foreground. Goldsmith Terrace can be seen on the side of the hill.

Port Ahuriri is located on the right side of the photograph. West Quay and the Iron Pot are visible. Among the buildings that are visible are the Port School and St Andrew's Church, which are both located near the centre of the photograph.

On the right side of the image three ships are moored in the harbour.
