About this object
A photograph of the Hastings Post Office on the corner of Queen and Russell Streets, Hastings. This photograph was taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.
This post office was constructed in 1910 with additions made in 1928. The clock tower at the corner of the building collapsed during the earthquake.
Visible next to the post office is W A Williamson, Newsagent and Stationer and further down Russell Street, Westerman and Company located at the corner of Russell and Heretaunga Streets.
