About this object
A photograph taken from the corner of Railway Road and Heretaunga Street in Hastings after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February.

At the right of the photograph is the Club Tearooms. The exterior walls have fallen and brickwork lines the street.

Central to the image, at the corner of Market and Heretaunga Street is the Pacific Hotel.

Left of this is Foster Brooks, Bookseller and Stationer; the New Zealand Clothing Factory (Hallensteins Bros) and Baird's Drapers.
