About this object
This photograph depicts Heretaunga Street, Hastings, looking west. The photograph was taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. On the extreme right is the Club Tearooms. The exterior walls have fallen and bricks line the street. To the left is the Bank of New Zealand. Across the street, on the corner of Market and Heretaunga Street, is the Pacific Hotel. To the left is Foster Brooks, Bookseller and Stationer, the New Zealand HB Clothing Factory, and Baird's Drapers.
