About this object
A stereoscope photograph of Herbert Street, looking north towards Manners Street junction.

There is a post visible on the right hand side of the road. This was either a crude hitching post arrangement or these were intended to keep horse and cart traffic to one side of the road, offering a form of protection to pedestrians.
