About this object
This photograph depicts a street view of King Street in Hastings taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. Visible is Land's Bag Shop, which was located on the corner of King and Heretaunga Streets. In the distance on the left side of the photograph is possibly the Cosy Picture Theatre on the corner of Heretaunga and King Streets, which collapsed as a result of the earthquake.
