About this object
A stereoscope photograph of Te Aro Pā in Wellington.
The Pā is believed to have covered 2 hectares, or 20,000 square metres of ground. This view is likely to have been taken from present day Manners Street looking north east. The beach and harbour would have been beyond the low lying dwellings visible in the photograph.
Photographer: George Dalrymple Monteith. Date unknown, probably the 1840s or 1850s.
