About this object
View of Parker's Chambers (1930), Herschell Street, taken during the reconditioning of the building following the Hawke's Bay earthquake in 1931. Designed by J A Louis Hay, the building is in the process of being reduced from three storeys to two storeys. The front façade of the building is covered in scaffolding and sheets of corrugated iron. There is a motor cycle parked in front of the building. Two bicycles lean against the façade of the building.
