A photograph of artist Samuel Charlton Weston and his unidentified assistant standing next to the Napier Railways Banner, 1913.

The banner was designed and painted by Samuel Charlton Weston. Weston is standing at the left of the banner wearing a suit and holding a painter's palette. The banner is attached to a decorative frame with a simpler supportive frame behind it. There are ropes wound around the side lengths of the decorative frame that end in tassels at the top.

The banner reads: Amalgamated Society Railway Servants, Napier, Unity is Strength.
