About this object
View of the reception hall in an unidentified house designed by J A Louis Hay. The walls of the room are decorated with a timber dado. Floral wall paper has been hung between the cornice and the picture rail. The floor is laid with two large rugs. There is a door in corner of the room. Among the pieces of furniture that are visible in the room are two built-in bookcases, a carved timber chair, and an armchair. The adjacent room is visible through an opening in the right wall. Furnished as a dining room, this space contains a dining suite. Additional chairs are located around the room. A large brick fireplace is located along the far wall. To the left of the fireplace is a door.
