About this object
This photograph depicts people boarding a train. It is thought that the photograph was taken in Hastings after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. On the 5th of February the train line to Hastings was re-opened and the first trainload of refugees left for Wellington the next morning.
