About this object
A group photograph of male swimmers posing on Marine Parade in front of the changing tents with local personality Bob (Robert) Lynam.
Bob Lynam is situated in the centre front of the group. He was the custodian of the male changing tents situated on the Marine Parade foreshore. The tents were used as changing cubicles prior to the development of the Municipal Baths in 1909.
There are two young girls also in the foreground of the photograph wearing dark dresses.
In the background houses Bluff Hill is visible, as well as houses on Seaview Terrace.
