About this object
View of two rooms in the Hinerangi homestead, Hatuma. Built in 1912, this house was extensively remodelled to designs by J A Louis Hay in 1919. The room in the foreground of the photograph, which is possibly the main living room, contains a range of furniture, including an upholstered settee and chair, a bookcase and a corner table. The walls, which are papered, are hung with pictures. Behind this room is an area furnished with dining room furniture. This room features a large dining suite as well as a large built-in cabinet displaying books, trophies and other ornaments.
