About this object
This photograph depicts a view of Hastings Street, looking up the street towards Napier Hill. Taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931, the devastation of central Napier can be seen, with destroyed buildings and rubble lining the street.
The Clarendon Hotel can be seen at the end of the street. It is possible that the building to the right is T Parker, General Outfitters.
