This photograph depicts a view of Tennyson Street, looking down the street from the Marine Parade end. Taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931, the devastation of central Napier can be seen, with destroyed buildings and rubble lining the street. The Public Trust Office and Napier Hill are visible in the distance.
