About this object
This photograph depicts the Nurses' Home at Napier Hospital after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on 3 February 1931. The Nurses' Home, despite being built only one year before the Hawke's Bay earthquake, was flawed by a combination of poorly mixed concrete and insufficient reinforcing.
