About this object
View of the Living Room at Glenalvon, Tikokino, designed by J A Louis Hay. Taken facing the inglenook, the photograph records the room's fireplace which features a carved timber mantelpiece and overmantel decorated with photographs and ornaments. The inglenook also features a timber dado with a decorative freeze above. Built-in timber chairs are located on either side of the space. A small window fitted with lead light glass is visible in the top right hand corner of the back wall.
