The photograph appears to have been taken at an unidentified river edge - likely to be the Tūtaekuri River. The children in the foreground are paddling and swimming in the shallows. Further in the river there is the club's waka/canoe.

At the left hand edge of the photograph a wooden jetty or platform can be seen. This may be a platform of the Te Awa Swimming and Life Saving Club.
