This photograph depicts the community shops, commonly known as Tin Town, that were built in Memorial and Clive Squares, Napier, after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. Bestalls Limited, drapers, is visible at the centre of the image. To the right of Bestalls are the premises of P C Sorrell, Photographer and Kodak Dealer.
