About this object
View of the Masonic Hotel taken from the Marine Parade esplanade around 1932. Designed by the architectural firm Prouse & Wilson, the Masonic Hotel was completed in 1932. In front of the hotel, two Pohutukawa trees have been planted. A raised garden is in the process of construction. To the left of the hotel, the site on the corner of Emerson Street and Marine Parade is vacant. In the foreground two men sit on a park bench. A bus stand is marked out on the street to their right.
