Annual Report of the Napier Society of Arts & Crafts for 1928.
Edition includes: names of the officers (President was Sir R D Douglas Maclean), a write-up of the events of the year preceding, a statement of accounts and a list of the members.
Significant notes are:
Four annual exhibitions had good numbers but poor sales, the Medici prints were exhibited and there was a section for Commercial Art
Medici prints are on loan to various Hastings and Havelock North secondary schools
An Art Union raffle was held, which raised a significant amount for the Art Gallery Fund
Mr & Mrs Hipkins went to England for 12 months, taking £100 to purchase pictures for the society
Fifth annual exhibition will be open to artists all over New Zealand instead of just local artist for the first time.
