About this object
Group of people dressed in costume for the Havelock North Shakespearean Pageant. The people are seated on horses in what appears to be a procession scene. The image is taken in an open field with trees and a partial view of a wooden building in the background of the image.
People identified in the image are: Norman Avery, Toni Gardiner, Cecil [Priorson?], Mr and Mrs Mason Chambers and Violet Russell. Three of the boys on horses in the foreground are Jessie Crosse (white horse), Ferdinand de Lisle and Harold Hyde (dark horses).
The pageant was organised by The Havelock Work group, and took place on 20 November 1912. Proceeds were to go towards liquidating debentures on the Village Hall.
