About this object
View of Marine Parade taken in front of the Masonic Hotel looking south east towards Cape Kidnappers, possibly around 1938. On the extreme left of the image, the west wing of the Soundshell (built 1935) is visible. The corner of the T & G Building (completed 1936-37) is visible on the corner of Marine Parade and Emerson Street. The street is crowded with motor vehicles. A man on a bicycle rides along the right side of the road. Further motor vehicles are parked behind the Soundshell. The sea wall runs along the seaward side of Marine Parade.
