About this object
A photograph of the foundation stone of the Hastings Methodist Church re-laid after the 1931 Hawke's Bay Earthquake.

The plaque is set in concrete and reads: This stone was laid by James Garnett Mayor of Hastings 7th Feb 1912. This was the foundation stone of the church destroyed by earthquake on 3rd February 1931 and was re-laid by Mrs J Garnett 30th April 1932.
