About this object
A photograph depicting part of the construction of the Hastings city waste water outfall.

The image shows a pile driver on a wooden construction on the beach. The construction is jutting out into the shallows. Presumably the pile driver was used in making a structure to encase the outfall pipe at the shoreline.

There are men standing at either end of the wooden structure. Two men are behind the cab of the machinery and two are standing near the pile driver.

The photograph is likely to have been taken on the foreshore near Haumoana and Clive.

A section of Cape Kidnappers is visible in the background of the image.
