About this object
A photograph depicting part of the construction of the Hastings city waste water outfall.

The image shows a crane or pump on the foreshore on top of a wooden structure. On the cab of the machinery is written: W Stevenson and Sons Ltd.
The wooden structure juts out into the sea. The waves are crashing against the end of the construction.
Near the end of what is likely a pipe covering a man is standing. He is slightly obscured by the metal extension of the crane, pump or driver.
The photograph is likely to have been taken on the foreshore near Haumoana and Clive.
