The wooden structure juts out into the sea. The waves are crashing against the end of the construction.
Near the end of what is likely a pipe covering a man is standing. He is slightly obscured by the metal extension of the crane, pump or driver.
The photograph is likely to have been taken on the foreshore near Haumoana and Clive.
