This photograph depicts the Post and Telegraph Office in Hastings after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.
This two-storied brick building was constructed in 1910 with additions made in 1928. These additions survived the earthquake but the 1910 wing collapsed.
The photographer is thought to be Frank L Moodie, architect.
