This image depicts the Fire Station in the period following the Hawke's Bay Earthquake. The building was newly renovated and restored in 1932. This photograph is thought to have been taken shortly after the renovations and changes to the façade.
Houses on the Napier Hill are visible behind the Fire Station on the skyline. The fire bell is visible on top of the building.
