About this object
This photograph depicts the main grandstand at the Hastings Racecourse after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.

The main grandstand was badly damaged in the quake. This photograph depicts the top of a column where bolts are missing.

The grandstand was repaired in 1934.

The photographer is thought to be Frank L Moodie, architect.
