About this object
View of Marine Parade looking south along the esplanade that is thought to have been taken in the 1920s. On the seaward side of Marine Parade stand the Swan Memorial Children's Paddling Pool (opened 1918) and the Municipal Baths (opened 1909). On the inland side, the esplanade is lined with Norfolk Island Pines. People can be seen sitting and walking along the esplanade. Further along Marine Parade Dr Walter William Moore's Upoko Poito Private Hospital (built 1919) is visible.
