This photograph depicts the South British Insurance Company building on the corner of Browning and Herschell Streets in Napier after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.

The second level of the building has been demolished and braces secure the first level. Fallen bricks can be seen at the side of the building. Men can be seen working on the building.

The photographer is thought to be Frank L Moodie, architect.
