About this object
This photograph depicts the Australian Mutual Provident Society building on the corner of Shakespeare Road and Browning Street in Napier after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.
The building was severely damaged by the quake. The cracks to the brickwork shown in the photograph were on the Browning Street side of the building.
The photographer is thought to be Frank L Moodie, architect.
