About this object
A photograph of land clearing and demolition following the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake. The location is unknown.

There are a lot of men working on the grounds. There are small buildings standing in the background and to the right rear of salvage efforts.

A large vehicle appears to be pulling a twisted metal beam from the ground in the centre of the image. A pump is visible in the left foreground.
