About this object
This photograph depicts the intersection of Browning and Byron Streets from the northern end of Byron Street.
The photograph was taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake.
At the centre of the photograph stands the Hawke's Bay County Council building, which is located on the corner of Herschell and Browning Streets. To the right, the top of the Hannah's Building is just visible.
The South British Insurance Company building is located in the right foreground. Two men are working on top of the building. There is a pile of rubble from the demolished top level of the building in front of it.
The photographer is thought to be Frank L Moodie, architect.
