A photograph of King’s Theatre, Hastings taken after the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. The cinema is being renovated for temporary usage under the name, Cosy Theatre.
The image depicts renovations being undertaken at the building on Karamu Road. Painters are visible on the awning above the shop painting the top frontage. Another man is visible at the right hand side of the building on a ladder.
There are two vehicles outside the theatre and several bicycles.
