About this object
A photograph of Dr Moore's Private Hospital, Marine Parade, taken after the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
The photograph is taken from behind the hospital looking out toward Marine Parade. The skeletal façade of the building is still standing prior to demolition. The Hawke's Bay Club is partially visible to the left of the hospital.
Men are discernable at the roadside working clearing debris. There is also a truck parked on the road loaded with debris. Another vehicle is in the middle of the road with lifting equipment.
The sea front, white street lamps and Norfolk Pines are visible along Marine Parade in the background.
Photographer: Dave Williams.
