About this object
A photograph of a jetty left high and dry after the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

There is a small boathouse visible on the jetty. A wooden hulled row boat is lifted up in mid-air on hoists above the walk.

This is possibly J Vigor Brown's private jetty, which was left ineffectual after the land lifted in the earthquake.

Photographer unknown.
