Brief Description
Indenture concerning the employment of George William Bee Pidd as an apprentice upholsterer to Ralph Lowe for a period of five years commencing 1 July 1899. James Richard Pidd, father of the apprentice, has also signed the document to give his consent, and as executor and administrator.

His weekly pay for the first year of employment was two shillings and sixpence with an increase of one shilling for each year thereafter. In his fifth and final year of the apprentice his pay was to be sevenpence weekly.

Signed in Macaulay Street, Great Grimsby, United Kingdom on 4 August 1899. Stamp duty of two shillings and sixpence.

Mr Pidd worked in Blythe's Store, Napier for many years.
