About this object
This photograph depicts the Tavistock Hotel in Waipukurau after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.

It is noted with the photograph that there were cracks on the corner of the Hotel, which are visible running through the signage, and also a damaged wall at the rear.

The proprietor at the time was Ernest Limbrick.

The photographer was thought to be Frank L Moodie, architect.
