The centre of the photograph is occupied by the band rotunda, around which a circle of park benches is located. The park is enclosed by a picket fence. In front of the band rotunda, a group of unidentified children pose for the camera. Behind Clive Square is Main School. In the distance, several large homesteads are visible on the top of Napier Hill.
