About this object
An image of Port Ahuriri and Westshore taken from Hospital Hill before 1900. Ships are in port along West Quay behind the buildings along the Quay front. Dalgety and Company Limited is visible backing onto Hyderabad Road just right of the two storied building on the corner.

The Petane Bridge coming off the extension to Hyderabad Road is evident, linking West Quay and Westshore. This replaced the ferry when it was completed in 1880. Near the end of the Petane Bridge on the Western Spit side the Ferry Hotel can be seen.
