About this object
View of Clive Square taken from Dickens Street looking towards Clive Square East. On the extreme left of the image is the band rotunda. Located at the centre of Clive Square, the band rotunda is surrounded by seating. Trees and shrubs have been planted around the perimeter of the park. The park is surrounded by a timber fence.

Among the buildings that are visible along the east side of Clive Square are the Provincial Hotel and the Trinity Methodist Church (built 1876). To the right of the Trinity Methodist Church are the premises of the Northern Fire Assurance Company and Frederick Fulton (commissioning agent, grain and seed merchant).

The spire of St John’s Church is visible in the background to the left of the Trinity Methodist Church.
