About this object
(a) Hand painted black and white photograph of Hukarere Road. The photograph is thought to have been taken from Bluff Hill prior to 1931. Hukarere homestead is visible along the skyline on the left. A second large homestead, Maihia, is also identifiable. Mahia is the large house with the green roof that is located along the skyline on the right side of the image.
(b) The photograph is accompanied by a piece of paper identifying the early owners of some of the buildings that are visible.
