About this object
A view of Ahuriri taken from Hospital Hill looking toward the North British Freezing Works. Possibly taken from near the hospital or Chaucer Road. The North Pond is visible at the extreme left in the middle of the image.
This image was taken prior to 1920 and the reclamation of the North Pond. Grazing land is visible on the land immediately above the houses on the hill in the photograph. A man and child are visible in the middle of the road at the bottom of the photograph.
