She writes of the effect of the bombing on the patients and compares the current bombing conditions to the Blitz. She mentions that she spent a weekend with her husband and describes the house that they stayed in. She writes of her enjoyment of Sussex, visiting country pubs after dinner, starting a needlework class and her planned projects. She commiserates about Raey's husband, Dick, being away at war and thinks of Raey's child, Lynn. She writes that she plans to try for a child of her own.
