About this object
View of Hastings Street from Emerson Street thought to have been taken in the late 1870s or early 1880s. On the extreme right of the image stands the Union Bank of Australia. Three horse drawn carriages stand outside the bank. On the opposite side of Hastings Street, the premises of Neal and Close (draper and clothier), John McVay (saddler and harness maker), S E Cooper (watchmaker and jeweller), and the Garrett Brothers Boot Shoe Depot are visible.
