About this object
An image of Port Ahuriri and the settlement on the Eastern Spit taken from the hill. The street visible along the spit is Waghorne Street. Seen above and along from the two buildings at the far right of the photograph are Rolls Bakery and the London Hotel. The building with three chimneys to the left of this is G E G Richardson's boarding house. The ship visible out at the left of the image moored off Meeanee Point is thought to be the Mary Ederson. On the left edge of the image Gough Island is still undeveloped.
