About this object
This photograph depicts Bluff Hill from Marine Parade after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.
The earthquake caused a slip at the base of Bluff Hill which blocked Breakwater Road. This photograph illustrates the severity of the slip, power lines and remains of a building are amongst the rubble. A large boulder can be seen in the right of the photograph also.
The photographer is thought to be Frank Moodie.
