About this object
The photograph shows the damage to shops at the bottom of Emerson Street caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. From left to right the shops are: Kelly's Kash (sic) store, an unidentified shop, Whitfields Motor Service and Loaders fruit depot. Clive Square is partly visible on the extreme right of the photograph. The debris in Emerson Street has been cleaned up.
