This photograph depicts Tennyson Street after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.
The Municipal Theatre can be seen in the background of the photograph and Bluff Hill runs behind this.
A prominent house can be seen on the top of Bluff Hill, this is thought to be the house that Alan Angus, Rita Angus' brother, lived in and then the Geddis Family. Trevor Geddis was the managing director of the Daily Telegraph, Napier, in September 1931.
Frank Moodie has been attributed as the photographer.
